NORTON, Mass. (AP) ? Rory McIlroy overcame back-to-back bogeys to post another 6-under 65 and build a two-shot lead Saturday among the early starters in the Deutsche Bank Championship.
McIlroy hit a beautiful approach to about 8 feet for eagle on the 18th hole to take the lead for the first time, only to give it back with a 5-wood into the water on the par-5 second hole that led to the first of his two bogeys. He finished at 12-under 130.
That gave him a two-shot lead over Ryan Moore, who had a 68. Seung-yul Noh made a double bogey late in his round for a 71 and was among those at 133.
Tiger Woods, who had a 64 in the opening round, played in the afternoon. The tournament ends on Labor Day.
